Peasants and locals of Barangay General Lim, Orion Bataan remained in their community after being demolished by a combination of 200 police officers, and a 100-strong demolition team, last Wednesday.
As a result of staying, the peasants and locals were subjected to constant harassment in an attempt to force them to vacate their demolished community.
Despite these intimidations, the residents of Brgy. General Lim is prepared to defend their homes from the onslaught of the police, and the demolition team.
According to the Kilusan ng Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), the demolition was ordered by Federico Pascual, the former president of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
The peasant group also mentioned that Pascual intends to sell the land of the farmers to Sta. Lucia Realty Corp for a residential project.
This is a developing story.
