The Information Technology Systems and Services (ITSS) suspended the printing of IDs of third-year students for this day, June 24, Monday, despite no announced notice.

The cut off commenced around 1-2PM, earlier than the usual cut-off time of around 5PM.

According to a representative of ITSS who requested anonymity, the cut-off decision was “subjective”, and there was no quantitative threshold as to how they decide on the suspension of ID printing.

“Dinedepende na po namin… nagkaka-constraint lang po talaga tayo sa time, and may mga concerns po na iba na pumapasok na hindi na po namin control,” said the ITSS representative.

The Holy Angel University – University Student Council (USC) also confirmed that they were not informed of the early cut-off time.

“Mag-co-coordinate kami sa mga offices such as [Office of Student Affairs], to ask kung bakit [na-cut off ang ID printing],” said HAU-USC President Emmanuel Manalastas.

Manalastas also stated that the council will likewise inform the students about further cut off in their enrollment support feature in their official Facebook page.

“Yes, possible naman, as long as meron kaming information. Currently talaga, wala kaming information, kaya hindi namin ma-disseminate,” he stated.

Mr. Catalino Diaz, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) – Director of ITSS likewise admitted that they have not coordinated with the HAU-USC, but affirmed that they will inform the council should cut-offs be expected in the upcoming days.

“Hindi kami aware sa ganoong way of [pag-coordinate sa USC]. We are just accepting the students na pumupunta [para sa] ID. Hindi namin alam kung kailan darating ang volume of students,” Mr. Diaz explained when asked about the lack of coordination with the student council.

“Siguro this is the first time…Next time siguro na if ever maencounter natin ang same situation, we would gladly inform [the USC],” added Mr. Diaz.

When asked about the possibility of further cut off, Mr. Diaz confirmed that the printing of IDs for third-year students will still be allowed even after the commencement of classes on June 26. He likewise said that for those who are not able to have their ID reissued, there should be no concern on the validity of their ID as they have no “expiration” date.

“Walang limit [ang date ng ID printing]. Ang concern lang diyan ay may request na pinapalitan ang ID ng mga third year, kasi luma. Pero walang expiration date [ang ID],” mentioned Mr. Diaz.

Despite the confirmation of a cut-off from the ITSS, the office once again resumed the processing of IDs for third-year students at around 3:45PM, after an interview with The Angelite.

ID printing is open for first and third-year college students, as well as transferees, and will be available at the Peter G. Nepomuceno (PGN) Basement until June 25. After which, students who wish to have their ID reprinted shall proceed at the ITSS Office at the Don Juan D. Nepomuceno building.
