Part of the Holy Rosary Parish Church (HRPC) was hit by fire around 3:30PM on Sunday, December 10, hours just before its scheduled masses for the day.
According to the HRPC on its Facebook page, the second floor of the Blessed Sacrament Building at the back of the church was set on fire, particularly affecting three rooms above.
“The music room, seminar room, and blessed sacrament chapel (ground floor) remain unaffected, and the main church and the rest of buildings within the premises are secure,” said HRPC in its statement.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Angeles City, the fire was declared “under control” around 3:50PM, and was declared a “Fire Out” at about 4PM.
HRPC likewise canceled its succeeding masses in the parish scheduled for this day due to the fire.
Additionally, Angeles City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (ACDRRMO) announced that no injuries or casualties were recorded in the incident.
As of writing, investigations by the BFP Angeles City are still ongoing on the causes and extent of the fire.
Concurrent to the fire incident, HRPC also undergoes rehabilitation due to the April 2019 earthquake.
This is a developing story.
