BREAKING: Tension commences as demolition operations in Barangay Anunas, Angeles City, resume today, October 16.

This is in spite of Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr.’s appeal last October 13 to the Clarkhills Properties Corporation, the claimant of the land, to defer demolition until all affected families in Anunas are properly relocated.

In a live video published on Facebook by Balubad Barangay Anunas, a number of police in full riot gear are present in the area. Alongside this, some residents, in retaliation, threw glass bottles at the state forces.

A fire along the barricade also ignited in the commotion during the demolition.

Around 500 houses and 2000 families are affected in the dispute over the 72-hectare land between the residents and Clarkhills Properties Corporation.

This is a developing story.
