A new year represents new opportunities as members of The Angelite participated in the 25th Inkblots workshop last January 11 to 12, 2024 at the Dr. Robert Sy Grand Ballroom of the of the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Building at University of Sto. Tomas (UST), España, Manila. Inkblots is a national campus journalism fellowship organized by The Varsitarian, UST’s official student publication. With this year’s theme entitled “Innovating Campus Journalism in the Age of AI”, various prominent news anchors and journalists discussed the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of journalism alongside how campus journalists will work with and against such technological advancements. Among the news anchors present in the event were Rappler Columnist John Nery, Broadcast Journalists Kara David and Ed Lingao, and Multimedia Reporter Paterno Esmaquel II. Three (3) members from the University Student Council (USC) namely Emmanuel Manalastas, Francine Senapilo, and Kyla Sangalang and The Enterprise Managing Editor Betina Aquino also join The Angelite and nearly 300 fellows from 39 schools and student publications nationwide.
